About Chris Jackson

Christopher L. Jackson is a candidate for District 22 of the Indianapolis City-County Council. Christopher was raised in Decatur Township area of Indianapolis, where he graduated with Academic Honors from Decatur Central High School. While at DCHS, he took part in many school clubs and sports, including being a 4 year varsity letterman for Swimming, being elected as the Treasurer of the National Honor Society, Secretary of Interact Club (a community service organization), and Secretary of the Class of 2007.

Christopher currently attends the University of Indianapolis where he is set to graduate in the spring of 2010, with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science/Pre-Law and a minor in International Relations. Upon graduating from the University of Indianapolis in 2010, Christopher hopes to attend the Indiana University, Indianapolis to earn his Doctor of Jurisprudence and Masters of Public Affairs degrees. He currently serves as the President of the University of Indianapolis College Democrats and is a member of many other organizations including the United Nations Student Alliance and Pride. He is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, through which he was chosen to attend the 2009 University Presidential Inaugural Conference, an honor bestowed upon a very select group of college students. Christopher also currently serves as the Chairman of the Decatur Township Democrats Club Youth Committee. During the summer of 2009, he founded the Indianapolis Coalition of College Democrats, an organization that will unify College Democrats from all across the City of Indianapolis and its universities into one central organization.

When elected to the Indianapolis City-County Council, Christopher will make history by being the youngest Councilor ever elected in the history of Indianapolis. Upon taking office, Christopher will apply his Progressive values to bring better leadership to Indianapolis, make the government accountable to the people, push to make Indianapolis a safer place to live, and will work to fix District 22's aging infrastructure in order to help create a district in which his constituency will be proud to work and live.
